First Day of Practice!
Good afternoon, J Jets Families!
This morning's first practice was a great start to our 2024 season, and we are looking forward to tonight's practice at 6:30pm! Here are a couple reminders to get our first week of the season started:
If you have not done so already, go register on our team website for the 2024 season! For the competitive team, we have only about half of you registered on the team website; for precompete, we have about two thirds of you registered, and for the dive team, we only one registered on the team website. The Team Website (Swimtopia) is the command center of our team and everything we do. This is how you get emails, sign up for meets (that are fast approaching!), volunteer for events, and more. If you did not receive this email from "Andrew Bond (via Swimtopia)", you are not registered on our team website. In other words, you should be receiving two copies of this email: one from The J KC, and the other from Swimtopia.

Remember, there is no meet this week! Our first meet is next week on June 6th! Details for that meet will come later this week. Volunteer job signups and meets will open for entries on Friday (an email reminder will be sent out)!
If you have not yet gotten your team tshirt, team swim cap, and custom cap (if you ordered one), you can pick these up anytime during practice hours. Just ask a coach!
Some of you are ordering the team suit today or later this week. If something happens and your team suit has not arrived at your doorstep by the first meet, your swimmer may wear a plain black suit with their team cap for this meet only. So if you have not ordered our team suit, please do so today! Go order now, then come back and finish reading!
We had some chilly swimmers this morning after practice, so please remember to bring a big dry towel and a sweatshirt so your swimmer is nice and dry after practice!
This first week of practice we will be moving kids around in their lanes a lot, so if your swimmer gets moved up or down a lane, they are not getting demoted! The coaching staff is trying to make sure every swimmer is in the best learning scenario possible, and prevent traffic jams.
Some parents have asked if signups are still open. They are! If you know someone who is looking to sign up for the 2024 summer swim season, send them my way and we will get them situated! Thank you all for your amazing recruiting efforts!
