Coaches
The Jets have six coaches: A head coach, and four assistant coaches who all love swimming and helping all swimmers grow in the sport.
Andrew Bond is the Head Coach for the J Jets. He has been swimming since he was three years old and has only grown to love the sport more and more. He swam for Olathe Northwest High School until he graduated in 2018 before swimming for the KU Swim Club Team in 2020. He began his coaching career in the spring of 2019, coaching the OCC Otters before transitioning to coaching the Saint Thomas Aquinas High School Men's and Women's Swim and Dive teams later that fall. After coaching at Aquinas for four years, Andrew became the the assistant coach for the Bishop Miege Women's Swim Team for the Spring 2023 Season before switching to the Kansas City Blazers later that fall. He is thrilled to be coaching the Jets for the fourth year in a row and is looking forward to helping every single swimmer on the team grow and improve!
Mary Clare is an assistant coach for the J Jets, and this is her third summer coaching. She has been swimming since she was eight years old and just finished her last competitive swim season this May. Mary Clare has also been coaching the Swim Club right here at the J for the last two years, and is eager to see what this season brings. She is so excited to see everyone again, and excited to meet those joining this year!
Josh is an assistant coach for the J Jets, and this will be his third year coaching at the J. Josh has been swimming since he was three years old, and is a major fan of the sport of swimming. Josh swam for the Olathe Cyclones in 2013 before switching to the Olathe Otters in 2021 where he currently competes. Josh will be a senior at Olathe Northwest High School where he currently competes on the Men’s Swim team. He is thrilled to be returning for the 2024 Summer Season and looks forward to coaching both returning swimmers and new swimmers this year!
Nick is an assistant coach for the J Jets, and this will be his second year coaching at the J. He is currently a junior at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, where he currently competes for the Men’s Swim and Dive team in 100 freestyle and several other freestyle races. Since February 2023, coach Nick has been coaching the J Swim Club and is very excited to continue his coaching career through this coming summer!
