    Swim Meets!

    Hi everyone!

We have our first swim meets this week! The 10 and Under age group will having their meet on Tuesday, June 15th, and the 11 and Up age group will have their swim meet on Thursday, June 17th. Here are some reminders for this week:

    1. Please make sure to mark your athlete as attending or not attending the meets, and sign them up for their races. If your athlete knows what they want to swim, feel free to enter them in those events (choose Novice or "N" option for each event). If you aren't sure what you're athlete should swim, then simply mark them as attending, and I will choose for them. Almost everyone on the team can swim all strokes legally (except the IM, as I have not covered that event in practice yet), so you can sign up for any event. There are a few athletes, however, that have not achieved a legal form of breastroke or butterfly; if that is your athlete, I will send you an email.

    2. Job signups are open for all meets. I have a good amount of positions filling up (Woohoo!), but there are some that have yet to be filled. We primarily need timers for Tuesday, as well as Stroke and Turn Judges. If you attended the Officials Training on June 8th or June 12th, you are eligible to sign up for Stroke and Turn Judges. Stroke and Turn judges are the only jobs that require training. Timers and all other positions will be taught/demonstrated at the meet.

    3. We are limiting spectators to one parent per athlete, however, both parents can come if one signs up for a volunteer position. The best seats in the house are timers and Stroke and Turn Judges, so if you want a clear shot of your athlete, those are the best jobs to have. Remember, you must have job 10 points minimum by the end of the season.

    4. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me! I have had some parents email me about meet signups closing early. I have gone back into those meets and have reopened sign ups until Monday 11:30pm.

Thank you all and I am looking forward to a great first week of swim meets!
